My passion and perspective
I have a passion for the Word of God and its application, as the absolute truth for life in our contemporary society and culture. Believing that the Bible is God’s ‘blueprint’ for living, this venture, “
Pastor Pete’s Perspective” is purposed to further the understanding of the truth of that concept. In our contemporary society, we face constant variations to what we refer to as “
Social Justice”, variations that seem to be in stark contrast to the “
Justice of God” as presented in His Word, The Bible. This constant state of change is in accordance with the disciplines adhered to in what is now recognised as one of the fastest, if not the fastest growing religion in the world today that of “
Secular Humanism”. This philosophy is totally absorbed in the promotion of self, ideologically self-seeking, it has no regard and little respect for the community, being totally obsessed with the rights of the individual. These standards are in total opposition to the teachings of the Bible, which focuses on the principles of service, submission to each other, and to God.These teachings set clear boundaries of right and wrong encompassing all areas of living. Teachings that bring stability and assurance of goodness if humankind would only submit to the ethics and “
Justice of God”, the author of true justice that embraces welfare for all, and in doing so still meets the needs of the individual as they function in the concept of community.I feel that it is important to understand that in secular humanism we find a philosophy of life that is totally opposed to the principles of Christianity. Not only do they hold to opposing points of view, but they do so in an extremely militant manner. The following are some points recorded quotes from well-known Australian Secular Humanists.Professor Manning Clark. A secular humanist, speaking of his friend the late Justice Lionel Murphy, who was also the head of the Law Reform Council of Australia. “It had been one ofMurphy’s aims to dismantle the Judean Christian ethics of Australian society. This was
reported in the Sydney Morning Herald on the 30th of October 1986, Pg8. Murphy was responsible for the setting up of the Family Court with its devastating results that it has had on the family unit and marriage itself.Murphy’s protégé Senator Gareth Evans, a former president of the Humanist Society and Architect of the Bill of Rights stated, “Children have the right to sexual freedom and education and protection from the influence of Christianity”. Sydney Morning Herald. 7th May 1976, Pg 11.With respect to Education, a quote from the Humanist Magazine Jan-Feb 1983 issue: – “The battle for mankind must be waged and won in the Public-School Classroom, by teachers who correctly perceive their role as proselytizers of a new faith. The classroom will become an arena of conflict between the old and the new. Between the rotting corpse of Christianity on one hand, and the new face of Humanism on the other. So, we can see that Secular Humanism has an extremely militant view toward Christianity, a view that we need to be aware exists and is thriving in our society today. In saying this, it is not my intention to present this site as one that is focused on the conflicting opinions of these two opposing concepts of living, but rather to identify the reality of their existence as the antagonists they are.The well-known Atheist Richard Dawkins recently admitted on LBC that he was a Cultural Christian. Freely stating that he loves hymns and Christmas Carols and everything to do with the Christian way of life, but he still denies the God that brought this culture into being as stated in His Word, the Bible. This from the man who made the following bizarre statement in his book called ‘The God Delusion’ claiming religion was a deeply malevolent, dividing force in the world. The clear dilemma we face here is found in the notion that it is not the great God of the universe that has designed this wonderful way of life and justice, but it has its origin in man alone, suggesting mankind has come up with the boundaries for living that we experience in our Christian culture today. Dawkins wants to keep the fruit of Christianity while rejecting the beliefs of Christianity. This is a dilemma many so called non-believers face, in that they want and enjoy the product without the commitment to the price. This site is committed to the ethos that Christianity is founded on the absolute truth of the Word of God, divinely inspired by the God who created the goodness of this life experience. He (God) is constantly, unceasingly, perpetually, and relentlessly involved in the application and outworking of His Word to the end that we, as His creation, would come into the deep personal relationship with God Himself because of the finished work of Jesus Christ His Son on the Cross of Calvary.Thank you for reading this introduction. I pray that you will be blessed by this site and that you might be brought into a deeper understanding of the absolute truth of the God that is alive and well and never takes His hand off His Word that teaches this absolute.
